WhatsApp Integration

Chat with your AI fitness assistant directly from WhatsApp. Ask about your training, sleep, and Garmin data on the go — no need to open the web app.

Linking Your Phone

Before you can chat via WhatsApp, you need to link your phone number to your Stridevox account.

  1. Go to Settings in the navigation bar
  2. Scroll to WhatsApp Integration
  3. Click Link Phone
  4. A 6-character code appears on screen (e.g., LINK-AB3X9K)
  5. Open WhatsApp on your phone
  6. Send that code as a message to the Stridevox WhatsApp number shown on screen
  7. You'll receive a confirmation message in WhatsApp once linked

Twilio Sandbox

Stridevox uses the Twilio WhatsApp Sandbox. Follow the on-screen instructions to join the sandbox before sending your link code.

One phone per account

Each Stridevox account can be linked to one WhatsApp number at a time. To change your number, unlink the current one in Settings first.

Chatting via WhatsApp

Once linked, simply send a message to the Stridevox WhatsApp number. The AI has access to the same Garmin data as the web chat. Here are some examples:

  • "How was my run yesterday?"
  • "What's my sleep trend this week?"
  • "Compare my last 3 runs"
  • "Should I rest today based on my data?"
  • "How many kilometers did I run this month?"
  • "What are my personal records?"

The AI responds just like in the web chat, with personalized answers based on your synced Garmin data.

Be specific

Just like in the web chat, specific questions get better answers. Instead of "How am I doing?", try "How does my running volume this week compare to last week?"

Available Commands

Send these commands in WhatsApp for quick actions:

Command What It Does
/sync Refreshes your Garmin data cache so the AI has your latest activities
/new Starts a new conversation (clears the current session context)
/help Shows the list of available commands

Syncing Garmin Data

The AI uses your cached Garmin data to answer questions. If you just completed a workout and want to ask about it:

  1. Send /sync in WhatsApp
  2. Wait for the confirmation message
  3. Ask your question about the latest activity

Automatic sync

Your data also syncs automatically on a regular schedule. The /sync command is useful when you need the very latest data immediately.

Viewing WhatsApp Conversations on the Web

WhatsApp conversations automatically appear in your web chat sidebar:

  1. Open Chat in the web app
  2. Look for sessions with a green WA badge in the sidebar
  3. Click a WhatsApp session to view the full conversation

WhatsApp sessions are grouped alongside your regular chat sessions (Today, Yesterday, This Week, etc.).

Read-only

WhatsApp sessions are read-only in the web interface. You can view the conversation history, but you cannot send new messages or edit existing ones from the web. Continue the conversation in WhatsApp.

Tips

  1. Quick check-ins — WhatsApp is perfect for fast questions like "How did I sleep?" or "What was my pace today?"
  2. Long responses get split — If the AI's response is lengthy, it will be automatically split into multiple WhatsApp messages for readability
  3. 24-hour sessions — A new conversation session is created after 24 hours of inactivity, keeping your chats organized
  4. Use /new for a fresh start — If you want to change topics completely, send /new to start a clean session
  5. Web chat for deep analysis — For complex, multi-turn analysis or workout creation, the web chat offers a richer experience with formatting and interactive features
